The Tiller School of Navigation and Seamanship
Tiller is a leading RYA training centre providing correspondence courses on a worldwide basis. You can expect friendly and professional training from Tiller. It's the 'personal touch' that makes all the difference when studying new subjects. We offer a quality product which is easy to read and learn from. The course is packed with extras that will increase your theoretical knowledge well past the RYA syllabus.
Not all distance learning courses are the same. Unlike some other schools we do not provide an automated marking service or give you standard answers so you effectively mark yourself. We prefer that you submit answers to the RYA exercises that form part of the course which are individually marked by our staff. In this way you will receive feedback on your understanding of the subject and where, if necessary improvements are needed. When you come to the exam there are no suprises as you will have already practiced exam style questions. It's probably why our success rate is so high.
A Tiller course will provide you with all the theory knowledge you need for your practical course allowing you to concentrate on the practical aspects of boating and get the most from your experience.
All distance learning courses are inspected by the RYA and approved before they can be sold.
